Energy Speaks

Have you ever walked into a room and instantly felt something? A heaviness, a calm, a spark, before anyone even spoke. Have you ever felt someone’s vibe? Whether they are low or dim or lit. That’s energy speaking. It’s the invisible current running through everything: people, places, moments, even thoughts.

When I was younger, I could not understand why I feel other people so deeply. Just talking to others, I seem to perceive more than just their words. In effect I also absorb their energy. Especially when they are negative. That’s when I get affected the most.

We’re all energetic beings living in an energetic world. But most of us have been taught to listen only with our ears and think only with our minds and not with our senses. Funny how we trust and use wifi yet doubt energetics. The truth is, you can feel energy long before you understand it.

It took me some time to master my own energy. I learned that I can steer it the way I want to. And it’s particularly helpful when being exposed to persistently negative and manipulative people. In psychology, it’s a skill I built around dealing with harmful people and experiences. And in spirituality, it’s my sensitivity to the energies that caused me so much suffering. Until I learned how to manage, to distinguish, to own.

These are the energy management protocols I have learnt and find very helpful in many ways –

1. GROUND YOURSELF

Before you can identify energy, whether it’s yours or others’, you have to come home to your own. Grounding connects you back to the Earth’s steady rhythm. It’s like tuning your inner radio before scanning for signals.

Try these simple practices:

· Take a few deep breaths. Feel your feet against the floor, your body in the chair, the weight of this moment. Feel your presence in the now.

· Stand barefoot on the ground. Breathe in for 4 counts, hold for 4, release for 4. With each exhale, imagine roots growing from your feet into the earth. Connect to stability, balance and centeredness.

2. AWAKEN YOUR AWARENESS

Energy reveals itself through subtlety. Goosebumps when you hear something true. Synchronicities that feel too aligned to be random. A gut feeling that pulls (or warns) you before logic can catch up. These are not coincidences, they’re whispers from the universe, nudging you to notice.

The more present you are, the more you’ll feel the flow around you. Try slowing down. Pay attention to what expands or contracts your body. Energy always tells the truth.

3. TRUST WHAT YOU FEEL

You don’t need to “fix” or “interpret” every energy you sense.

Just notice. Energy moves best when we don’t force it. When you start to honor your own energetic language (the tingles, the warmth, the pull) you begin to dance with life, not against it. Energy speaks softly. The more you listen, the louder it gets.

Try this the next time you feel a sudden shift in mood:

Stop and ask, “Is this mine, or something else I’m sensing?”

That one question alone can change how you move through the world.

Your energy is yours. To spend, to regenerate, to keep healthy. It is your life’s most precious currency. Be wise in spending it on negativities – hate, shame, blame, fear or guilt. While we cannot skip the negatives entirely, we can treat those as signals instead of a space to dwell.

Be mindful in giving away your power. There are those who will feed off of your life’s energy just to sustain theirs.

Nurture your energy. Nourish it with joyful things. Share it from a space of love.

Your life is an expression of God, Source, the Divine. The energies that flow through you and from you connects to everything else. And whether you contribute to the increase or decrease of the collective energy, whether you take part as the higher or lower frequency, it’s all up to you.

That is how powerful you truly are.
