Radical Honesty

Part of honoring our truth, is uncovering the lies. They go hand in hand. For if we continue with the lies, bury them or put them aside - we are still lying. We are still faking.

Radical honesty requires an unbiased admission of facts. It happened. It was said. It was done. To not paint the story in pastel hues. To not look at things through rose-colored glasses. Rather, to see things as they are, and not as we want them to be. Or worse, not as we pretend them to be.

I have had the ultimate gift of truth by having the courage to tell someone the secrets that I have held on for so long. It freed me from the shame. It released me from the pain.

No one will truly know us until we are fully truthful. And no one can truly love us until we are fully true. Otherwise, they are knowing and accepting and loving a pretend version of us.

There are shackles and chains in the fear of being judged. It keeps us from going farther than the length of the lies and secrets we keep. And the longer we allow ouselves to be prisoners, the bigger the darkness within us grows.

Be free.
